My Journey To Reiki and it’s Healing Properties
I encountered the power of Reiki, auras, and physic channels a few years a go when I began to see glimpses of light, shadows, and images around me. I would turn around and feel an image near me. It was never scary or evil, it was inviting. I would enter my kitchen or be washing my dishes, and see a vision of a person near me in a different room. This continued to happen for a few weeks. At first I thought I was going crazy, so I decided to investigate further. I read books, looked on the internet, read articles and publications, and I still didn’t have an answer. So, I decided to sign up for a local Reiki training. Reiki was calling to me.
To understand more: Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work that flows through all living beings.
My first training was basic and I left confused about the auras I saw. A few months later, I took a second training. This course was more in-depth. During my time here the teacher gave me a Reiki Attunement. The Attunement process knowledge from my teacher being passed on to me. The ceremony opened up my flow of Reiki energy to receive the universal life energy and it’s sources. After I completed this training, I became a Reiki Master and I started to work at a local cancer institute. During these sessions my right had would shake, it felt as if someone was moving my hand in the direction where the patients pain or sadness was located. I would close my eyes, find stillness and found I was also able to connect with their deceased loved ones, pets, and different images. I found validation when I finally got the courage to tell my clients what I saw. The emotions were heavy for me in the beginning because many clients would cry in disbelief. This validation helped me to realize I was moving in the right direction.
After a session a client asked, “Why does your right hand shake.” After some thought, I made the connection that my cancerous tumor, which was located on the left side of my brain perhaps opened up different portals so I can see auras? Did the trauma to my brain, cells and systems create new space to feel, see and heal deeply? I still have many questions, however, I’m blessed to have this connection and ability to help heal people. I look forward to sharing my gift with you. In lightness. -Susan
