Hemp Seeds

I decided to start with my first blog about my favorite type of grain which is Hemp Seeds.

Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats and essential fatty acids. They are also a great protein source and contain high amounts of vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc and gluten free.

Hemp seeds are rich in healthy fats. They have a 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3, which may benefit skin diseases and provide relief from eczema and its uncomfortable symptoms.

What to Look For

Look for “hemp hearts” or “hulled hemp seeds,” which have the outer shell removed and are easter to digest and milder in flavor them whole help seeds.

Most hemp seeds are very low in pesticides. However, if you can purchase the organic hemp seeds that’s preferable. Otherwise conventionally grown hemp is a highly nutritious option. 

My favorite brands are Mantoba Harvest organic hemp seeds from Nutiva.
